All three stay on Sumba’s western side for a reason. Sumba is larger than Bali and the roads are rough, so a 3–4 night stay belongs on one side; crossing to Waingapu and Sumba Timur is a 7–8 night Sumba-only route, TMC in, WGP out.

Which island should you fly to first, and why?

Bali (DPS) to Tambolaka (TMC) is a daily domestic flight of roughly 1 hour to 1 hour 15 minutes. Schedules move season to season, so the team confirms the actual departure at booking rather than printing a timetable that will be wrong by the time you read it.

How many nights do I need for a Bali and Sumba luxury package?

Seven or eight nights is the practical minimum: 3–4 in Bali, 3–4 in Sumba, with one half-day flight between them. Fewer than three Sumba nights wastes the transfer; more than four on a first visit only makes sense as a Sumba-only trip crossing from Tambolaka to Waingapu.

Do I need to overnight in Bali before flying to Sumba?
