The Journey, Day by Day
Days 1–3 — Ubud, the Green Interior
You land at DPS to VIP fast-track handling (from USD 160): escorted immigration, porters managed, Alphard idling at the kerb, then ninety minutes north to Ubud. We favour river-valley estates above the Ayung — ask us for a valley-facing pool villa away from the lobby wing, where the mist sits in the gorge until mid-morning. Days 4–5 — Uluwatu, the Limestone Edge

We will steer you toward southwest-facing suites for the sunset, and away from room categories that look identical online but sit a ten-minute buggy ride from the pools. Day 6 — Across the Water to Tambolaka
Fast-track departure at DPS, then the morning flight to Tambolaka: about 1 hour 15 minutes, most of it over open sea. Our Sumba team meets you in the arrivals hall, luggage goes into the Land Cruiser, and within two hours you are checking in on the west coast — Nihi Sumba on its famous beach, or Cap Karoso at the island’s far western tip. The choice shapes the next three days, and we will help you make it honestly.
Days 7–9 — West Sumba: Lagoon, Villages, Surf
Weekuri’s tidal lagoon early, before anyone else finds it; Ratenggaro’s towering thatched roofs above the river mouth; a Sumba snorkeling private boat charter for the coves of the northwest coast where no day-trip boats anchor. If Nihi is your base, ride the sandalwood ponies along the sand at sunset; if Cap Karoso won you over, give an afternoon to its farm and the chef’s table that follows. A staffed picnic at Marosi beach, empty for kilometres, belongs in here somewhere. Days 10–11 — The Crossing to East Sumba

Day 12 — Waingapu, and Homeward

How Do the Flights Actually Work?

Lombok is closer and gentler; Sumba is emptier, wilder and far more distinct from Bali — which is why guests with twelve days choose it. Do we tip in USD or IDR?

What happens in a medical emergency on a remote island?

The west-coast resorts keep their own clinics, our drivers know the fastest passable roads, and the evacuation plan we file before arrival covers air transfer to Bali in about 75 minutes. Can the Odyssey run entirely by private charter?
